Alan Kok who is a Hakka was born in 1976 at Broga, Malaysia. During his secondary school days, he has started to develop a deep interest in eating. Despite the fact that his family members weren’t supportive of his interest, he still chose to study Food and Beverage course. However, after seeing his passion and good academic results, his family members were touched and convinced of his decision. In 1995, he has successfully graduated from SENI MASAKAN. After graduation, he has worked as a chef at various well-known restaurants at an area in Kuala Lumpur and after accumulating sufficient experiences, together with his family, in 2000, they have established Broga Recreational Fishing Park. This establishment has helped to provide fresh experiences and excitement to the tourism industry. In 2002, he has joined Yum Yum Publications as a full-time chef and would launch a bimonthly “Cooking Sauce” special column. Besides that, he has also published multiple cookbooks and one of which includes the series of “Hawkers Delight (Published by YUM YUM PUBLICATIONS)” which many people may be familiar with. In order to leap into the next milestone of life, in 2014, he founded and built his personal brand of ”ALANKOK TASTE” with the ambition to share with everybody the joy of cooking and provide solutions to people with busy schedules so they could prepare healthy meals at home and ensure that both they and their loved ones could stay healthy.
